Camps - Summer Camps and Opportunities!

Camps include summer enrichment opportunities and childcare for children in Middletown and surrounding areas. If you know of an opportunity that should be listed here, please see our submission form below!

Camp

Recreation and Community Services

The city of Middletown has many day camps, activities and sports.  For instance baseball, soccer, basketball, dance, volleyball, multi-sport camps, and swimming lessons, tennis, golf and more.  See the brochure here. All programs here.

Ages: 5-15 years

Dates: June 28-August 20 (register one week at a time)
Times: 7:30 am- 3:00 pm, drop off between 7:30 am and 9:00 am
Aftercare until 5:30 at Farm Hill, Moody and Baseball (no bus)

Transportation: Bus provided for Crystal Lake, Snow, Spencer camps

Cost: $90 per week (Care4Kids accepted; financial aid available)

Before you register, you need to create an account. (Everyone is asked to create a new account for 2021).  Please add all family members when you create the account.

Camp

Kids Arts: The Children's Circus Camp

The Children’s Circus is a unique blend of traditional summer camp with an immersive arts performance-based enrichment program run by the City of Middletown in collaboration with Oddfellows Playhouse. Information is here. The registration form is here.

Ages: 8-15 years at Macdonough School
           5-15 years at Bielefield School (bus provided)

Dates: July 6- August 6, Monday-Friday, no camp on July 5
Time:   9:00 am-3:00 pm
Aftercare is provided by the Recreation Division at Farm Hill

Transportation: Bus provided to Bielefield School location

Cost: Prices are on a sliding scale based on family income.  Please provide SNAP or TNFF documents or ask about another option.

Camp

Everyone Outside Summer Camp

Join Everyone Outside at Fire Ring Farm in Portland, CT for a summer of friends, forts, fire and farm fun! We will explore the woods, harvest and cook food from the farm in the outdoor kitchen and hone our nature skills! Space is limited!

Ages: 7-12 years (weeks 1-4)
5 & 6 years (weeks 3 & 4)

Dates: June 28 -July 23 (register one week at a time)
Times: 9 am- 3:30 pm (full day); 9 am – noon (half day for 5-6 years)

Transportation: Free for those who need it from downtown Middletown and locations in Hartford and New Haven. Please indicate your interest on registration form.

Cost: self-selected sliding scale ($50-350/week). We offer a $50 BIPOC (Black/Indigenous People of Color) Reparations Award. This is not a scholarship. Please click here for details.

Kids' Korner Before & After School Programs

Kids’ Korner is a place for children to extend the school day by exploring new interests, enjoying healthy recreational pursuits, engaging in enrichment activities, and benefiting from academic support. The Kids’ Korner Program follows all health & safety guidelines recommended by the CDC and the Office of Early Childhood. See the current information here.

Macdonough After School Clubs

Macdonough has lots of after school clubs and activities including: garden club, Mad Science, basketball, chess club, art club, Makerspace, Girls on the Run, Circus Skills, Unified Sports, Coding, Rubik’s Cube, Lego Robotics, Horseback riding (by invitation). Speak with Mr. Reardon about how to get involved.

Veteran's Pool

Veteran’s Pool will be open this summer.  COVID restrictions are in place. Purchase a pool pass at the office or at the pool for $25 (family of 6).

1st Annual Juneteenth Liberation Day Festival

Join the Middletown UJIMA Alliance at Veteran’s Memorial Park for a day of celebration with food, music and vendors at Veteran’s Memorial Park.
